The dangers of UV rays and chemicals for car paint

Discolouration and decreased quality car paints, is a natural process. Some of the factors causing the degradation of car paint colors include UV light and chemicals. Chemicals that cause these things are often not realized by the owner of the car. Though these chemicals may be a familiar form for us, for example, the feces of birds, insects, pollutants in the air, car polishing, salt, and others.

Bird droppings. Bird droppings that stick to the car body, is actually quite easy to clean. But because of busyness of our daily activities, often it escaped our attention. The bird or insect droppings that stuck not for too long, fairly easy to clean with water. But it would be difficult to remove of it if has long pressed and dried. If you clean it with a hard object, the risk is car paint will be scratched. In addition, bird droppings stuck to the car body will fade paint in the place.



Pollutants in the air. Air contains many chemicals in gas form. For areas that have a high air pollution, such as urban areas, the content of nitric acid (HNO3) is quite high as well. This nitric acid is able to damage the car paint, whether it in form of gas or liquid when mixed with rain water.

Car polishers. Although the main purpose of car polisher is to enlighten paint a car, you still should not be careless to use it. Many car polisher that works in a way erode the car paint, use abrasive materials, which can lead to reduction in the age of car paint. So do not be too often use the car polisher.

Salt or acid. Content of rain water containing salts or acids if high enough can damage the car body. Because it can cause corrosion on the car body. Similarly, if you use the car in the area around the beach, you should avoid sea water on the car body, because sea water contains salt.
